Hi. I just stumbled upon your blog and I simply LOVE your work. I’m not very artsy (I still draw stick people) and I was wondering if you draw your own trees or if there is some sort of stencil I can use? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks so much. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
🙂
Hi Tina! Thanks for the awesome comment 🙂 I paint my trees free-hand, but im sure you can make a stencil out of a silhouette picture from google images or something- maybe i will have to make a template! here is a tutorial of mine with a lot of detail on how I paint the trees: https://bustedbutton.com/2012/05/17/blending-tutorial/ Give it a try- you might surprise yourself 🙂
Hi, about how many buttons did it take to make that ? How did you manage to get the buttons almost the same color any tips on where to get button thx. Such a cute project i wanna do animal buttons like that but don’t know where to start and its so cute
Hi Cecilia! I assume you are talking about the button elephant- most of the buttons for that one I got at a dollar store. they sold little pouches of similarly-colored buttons. just go on a button hunt and see what you can find! I probably used around 60ish buttons. but it totally depends on what size etc. have fun!
hiii…how can i make the canvas (the base where u draw)?….its not available in the markets here
Im not sure if you will have the supplies there but here is a link on how to make a stretched canvas- http://www.wikihow.com/Stretch-a-Canvas
But you can use anything you have too- I’ve used cardboard and wood or old paintings to make my art too 🙂
Can I order a Simba button animal from you. I have been working on one for 2 months now and i just cant seem to get it right, I am running out of time can you help.
Hi melissa! Why dont you send me an email and we can talk details 🙂 i’d love to help you out:)
I’m wondering how I can get one of your bird necklaces? Please let me know.
Hi Jennifer! Feel free to email me at dotfalcon@gmail.com– let me know which necklace you are talking about and I will see if I have any available to make for ya 🙂
How do you paint three colors, example: red, orange, and yellow, blended together. (not on top of each other). for example in your painting, “Of the Forest”. Is there any certain kind of technique for this? thank you
Hi Lynne! You can follow my blending tutorial here: https://bustedbutton.com/2012/05/17/blending-tutorial/
Thanks for stopping by 😀
Hi, I saw your post about the hanging bird feeder that was made with jewelry bails. I’m wondering how it held up outside. Did the bails rust at all? Thanks!
Hi Jen!! This lasted really well for a year and a half until a windstorm knocked it off its hanger! Even then the glue was still holding strong. The chain did rust, but didn’t look bad- and I am sure you could ask your hardware store for something that might not rust = i just used what I had around 🙂
Do you have the elephant for sale? If so how much. I would need by the 9th of December?
Hi Juanita! thanks so much for your inquiry- it made my day. Unfortunately I don’t have time to work on this at the moment, as my disabled son’s needs are too high. but thanks again for asking. ❤
