Hello, Bloggy world! I can’t believe it’s already MAY!
It is starting to look like summer over here, and I hope the sun is shining on you too! We were lucky enough to enjoy a picnic the other evening… pretty nice view here on Vancouver Island:
We even got to watch crazy people jump off the bridge, which is always a good influence, hahaha!
I know I haven’t been blogging as much lately, but I’ve wanted to get back to the more regular posts, since Facebook isn’t letting most of my readers see what I’m up to anymore! Mark Zuckerberg, if you are reading this, which you OBVIOUSLY are, give me a break! Maybe I should start a petition to convince the Facebook gods to accept buttons as payment for advertising. I will get on that.
Since it’s been so long, I wanted to share a GIVEAWAY, as my sincere apology, but I also want to share a bit of what I have been up to, and some of my new favorite art!
Here are some of my recent projects:
Here is the first one- These birch trees with the woodland critters and the sunset make for such a neat combination! This painting will be available starting tonight (Tuesday, May 6th at 6PM Pacific Time) for a 48 hour auction! So, if you love it, you can go ahead and place a bid- you might get yourself a really good deal! Click here to view the link.
Here is my second piece that I recently finished for someone special:
I know this song has a lot of meaning for a lot of people, and I think it would look great in a cute little nook somewhere.
I’m selling another nifty item starting tonight, but I will share that in a minute, because it is part of my giveaway!
Another thing I really want to share about is my new fave website to zone out on. Saatchi art. I don’t know about you, but I appreciate other people’s artistic talent and style so much. It is so cool to scroll through these pieces for creative inspiration. I fell in love with a few paintings and sculptures and am HOPING my hubby reads this and thinks of Mother’s Day 😉
One of the reasons I have a hard time considering myself to be a ‘professional artist’, is because of art like this:
THIS IS A PAINTING.
It is from the Really Real collection, which is MINDBLOWING. I could stare at stuff like this for so long. The amount of time and talent required to create art this impressive is something that I just don’t have access to. It is no short of a divine gift, if you ask me!
There is also some more lighthearted, fun and silly art on the site, like this awesome drawing:
Heehee I just love it! Such a good mix of cool and strange talent.
I think I’d like to submit some of my art on here eventually because it is such a cool community for creative folks to sell their work and discover new artists.
Okayyyy Now back to the GIVEAWAY! ***closed. Congrats Leanne sharpe king! She was commenter 8 out of 22!***
I want to give someone one of these leather bicycle bracelets that I will be selling tonight!
Nifty hey? You can click the picture to see the listing for these, I suspect they will go quickly once the sale starts at 6PM, BUT if you leave me a comment on this blog post, I will randomly pick a winner to send an adjustable turquoise leather bike bracelet to for free! I will pick the winner on Friday, May 9th at some point when my children aren’t attacking my face and/or life in general.
I promise I will be getting back to my usual tutorials, where I share all my secrets and neato ideas, but for now, I need to get back to that website so I can start pinning my favorite pieces to Pinterest!
Happy bracelet-winning and artsy pinning!
